Happy Easter!

Pillow Talk

April 21, 2011

These pillows were for sale on Joss and Main last week and I think they do a *great* job of summing up the emotions of wedding planning. Just had to share.

Girls' Weekend

April 18, 2011

This past weekend Liz and I headed up to Minneapolis for our annual Girls' Weekend! Highlights included the Trails truck stop, lots of cheese from Kowalski's, Peeptinis, tons of girl talk, and officially asking these four lovely ladies to be my bridesmaids! It was an awesome weekend!

Harry Eating his Birthday Cake

Harry's 2nd Birthday

April 13, 2011

Today was our fur baby Harry's 2nd birthday. They grow up so fast.

Here are some pics from his "birthday party".

 New shirt to wear

His very own beer toy for when he spends QT in the man cave with B

What's left of his cake

I will upload the video of him eating his birthday cake in a separate post. He would have eaten the whole thing if we had let him. We had to stop him though, he is only 3 lbs after all.

Special Delivery

April 11, 2011

Look what the UPS man brought!

I will admit I *may* have died a little inside when I bought shoes that were Fergalicious brand.

Nude patent pumps for spring! YAY!

LOVE them. I was obssessed with the Pearce nude pumps from Target, but waited too long to buy them and they were long gone from all our local Target stores....and at the time they were sold out online too. I found these online at Famous Footwear, on sale for $29.99 (same price as Target) and with free shipping. Total score.

And obviously I got the better deal in the end, because the Target pumps don't come with an autographed note from Fergie. I ROCK!!

Official.

April 6, 2011

So our big news of the weekend is that B and I are now official, card carrying members of Costco! I foresee buying lots of unnecessary bulk items in our future, but for now we just got some pillows and a big box of cereal. :)

The weather was gorgeous last weekend so we hit up Fareway afterwards for some Bacon Cheddar burgers. I may have taken a bite of mine before this picture. Excuse me for being hungry. Also, can I just say how awesome those roasted Teeny Tiny Potatoes from TJ's are?!!? I found out about them here at Iowa Girl Eats. So good!

Also from Fareway, Thin Mint ice cream from Picket Fence Creamery in Woodward. Gotta have some dessert. I was proud of the restraint I showed by getting the personal sized container instead of the huge one.

Yep there's an actual thin mint on top. Try not to drool.

Obligatory cute dog shot to end the post. We had my family dog over for the weekend while my parents were out of town. This is one of the few times they were behaving and not eating/pooping/begging for treats/barking at people outside or sounds the wind makes.

Rough Week

April 1, 2011

Last Sunday night we received the news that my cousin Eddie had been killed during an armed robbery at his workplace. Needless to say our family is devastated, and just trying to cope with this new reality. The whole situation was made worse by the fact that Eddie was not even supposed to be working Sunday (he took over someone else's shift), and his wife and 13 year old son are the ones who found him. His coworker was also killed. The one positive aspect of the situation is that the person who committed this brutal, senseless crime has been caught and has confessed to everything. Thankfully he will not be able to inflict such pain on any other families. Here is a link to a news story that gives a little more background on what happened: http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/Worker-booked-in-slayings.html

Today is the funeral and my parents are in Baton Rouge to be there with everyone. Please keep my family, and especially my Uncle Nick and Aunt Jeannie, in your prayers. They have lost a son, and his wife and two boys have lost a husband and father. Give everyone you love an extra squeeze today.
